IIT Hyderabad (IITH) – Japan Collaboration

Since the launch of the JICA FRIENDSHIP Project in 2012, IIT Hyderabad (IITH) has been expanding collaboration with Japanese universities, research institutions and companies through researcher exchanges, joint research initiatives and institutional partnerships.

This page serves as a hub for Japan-related collaboration at IIT Hyderabad, presenting overall research outputs and pathways to academic and industrial collaboration.


Research Outputs

Number of Co-Authored Publications between IIT Hyderabad and Japanese Institutions

Research collaboration between IIT Hyderabad (IITH) and Japanese institutions has significantly expanded over the past decade.

The number of co-authored publications was only 2 in 2010, but it increased rapidly over the years. Since the launch of the FRIENDSHIP Project in 2012, the total number of co-authored publications between IITH and Japanese institutions has exceeded 600 by 2024.

To support further collaboration, a database of co-authored publications between researchers of IIT Hyderabad and Japanese academic institutions has been compiled and made publicly available.

This Excel dataset contains details of co-authored publications extracted from the SCOPUS database. It enables faculty members to identify potential research partners and explore existing and emerging academic collaborations.
