Symposium of JIGER

Prof. B.S. Murty, Director of IIT Hyderabad, and the IITH delegation visited Shimane, Japan, on 27–28 February 2026 to participate in the Kick-off Symposium of the Japan–India Global Education and Research Center (JIGER) at Shimane University.

According to the symposium program, the two-day event brought together faculty members, administrators, and industry experts from Shimane University and partner institutions in India to share current research achievements and discuss opportunities for academic collaboration.

In the symposium, Prof. Murty delivered an address during the inaugural session and later presented a keynote lecture titled “Growth of institutions through collaborations.” IITH faculty members also contributed to the scientific sessions, while administrative staff delivered an invited lecture on the role of administration in academic excellence.
